Mr. Norio Sugimaru
COO & Whole-time Director
Mr. Norio Sugimaru joined Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. (MHI) in the year of 1992 and started his career as a steam turbine design engineer in MHI Nagasaki Shipyard and Machinery Works.
In 1997, he moved to Yokohama Head Quarter and work for proposal and basic engineering.
In 2006, he returned to Nagasaki and appointed Section Manager of steam turbine engineering.
In 2012, he moved Yokohama HQ again and appointed Deputy General Manager of Supply Chain Management Strategy Group.
In 2014, he moved Takasago Factory and since then, he has been working in the Takasago/Hitachi Factory and appointed Deputy General Manager of the Steam Turbine Engineering Department.
He was in charge of basic/detail design activity and order-taking activity for a number of steam turbines.
Mr. Norio Sugimaru was appointed Whole-Time Director and COO of L&T-MHI Power Turbine Generators Pvt. Ltd. on 1st April 2021.
He holds a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Organization for Advanced and Integrated Research, Kobe University.
