Mr. Suresh Kumar Narang
Director
Mr. Suresh Kumar Narang is the CEO of Nabha Power Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro Limited. He has more than 37 years of rich experience in the Power Sector including 24 years in NTPC. He has held various profiles in Mega Thermal Power Projects Design, Engineering, Development, Commissioning, EPC, Operations, Commercial, Coal Mine Development and Consulting.
Prior to joining NPL , he served as Vice President and Head Commercial & Engg . at L&T Power based at Vadodara handling portfolio of 3960 MW Supercritical Power Projects awarded on EPC basis to L&T Power for NTPC , RRVUNL and MPPGCL .
He was responsible for execution of India’s first Ultra Super Critical Power Project of 2x660 MW for NTPC at Khargone . He was also responsible for Business Development functions of L&T Power. In the year 2010 ,upon joining L&T, he was deputed to Rajpura - Punjab for looking after execution of 2x700 MW from Owners side as Project Director of NPL and he oversaw the construction, start up and commissioning of Rajpura Thermal Power Project before moving to L&T Power in the year 2014.
As a part of the Accelerated Leadership Development Program, he was selected by L&T to attend the prestigious Sr. Executive Programme (SEP) of London Business School at their Campus in London. He was also nominated for Global CEO Program of L&T conducted by Harvard Business School . He also attended Management Development Programme conducted by IIM Ahmedabad for Senior Executives of L&T.
During his stint with NTPC , he spent around 14 years in the Projects and later on , he has spent around 10 years in Consultancy Division where he got the exposure in Engg, Commercial, Consulting and Project Management Functions. He played a pivotal role in formulating techno-commercial aspects of Tariff Based Competitive Bid documents which were later adopted by MOP. His experience in financial closures, due diligence process, resolution of techno commercial issues reflects on the strong financial and commercial acumen on the projects that he handled.
After his tenure with NTPC , he served as Sr. Vice President India Bulls Power and was responsible for development of Integrated Coal and Power Project at Bhaiyathan in Chhattisgarh .
He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering with Honours from Punjab Engineering College in the year 1984.
