Mr. Takeshi Umeda joined Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. (MHI) in the year of 1995 and started his career in the international sales & marketing department in MHI Power Systems Headquarters, Tokyo.
In 1998, he moved to the overseas sales and marketing group of power systems in MHI Nagasaki Shipyard & Machinery Works, and then, from 1998 to 2001, he had been appointed as Administrative Manager at the construction site for Full Turnkey thermal power project in Vietnam.
Since returning to the overseas sales & marketing group in MHI Nagasaki in 2001, he had been in charge of power systems business mainly for East & South-east Asian market such as Vietnam, Korea and Indonesia.
In 2011, he was appointed as Group Manager of the international power systems business group in MHI Nagasaki, also starting to be involved in the business related to the L&T-MHI Indian Power Systems Joint Venture operations.
In 2015, he had been appointed as the Member of Management Committee of L&T-MHPS Boilers Pvt. Ltd. (LMB; current L&T-MHI Power Boilers Pvt. Ltd.) and worked in India for approximately 3.5 years, mainly being engaged in sales / marketing and business development related to LMB’s operation.
He is now Manager of Global Business Strategy Group of Business Planning Department in MHI Steam Power Maintenance Innovation (SPMI) Business Division, and has been in charge of the support / administration of the management of group companies, domestically in Japan as well as globally, specially related to MHI SPMI division.
Mr. Umeda holds a Bachelor of Law from Hitotsubashi University, Japan.
